In her latest project, the Ukrainian-born, New York-based artist brings to life the music of Russian singer Yanka Dyagileva, a Siberian punk-folk singer, part Patti Smith, part Nico, whose work only became known after her untimely death at the age of 24. Simone’s album, “Everyone is Crying Out to Me, Beware,” does justice to Dyagileva’s sadly luminous songs.
