Alina Simone is a new arrival to Brooklyn with a solid résumé in the modern-folk world. This show provides something special—beyond the presence of comedian Eugene Mirman as host: Simone will be previewing her next album, Everyone Is Calling Out to Me, Beware, which features songs written by the Russian folksinger Yanka Dyagileva, who drowned mysteriously in 1991 at the young age of 24.
